How different frame rates make a style feel right

so sometimes I see people be like “wow good animation but here’s a tip M A K E IT S M O O T H E R
but what if it’s not meant to be smoother a style with the right frame rate is good like in anime the frame rate is low but it’s in a good way. video games with high fps looks super smooth and feels right but don’t shove hey make this better by smoothing it and it annoyed me a lot I had @BSA_15 always saying stuff like this on my youtube videos “make this smoother” “choppy frame animation” and when I made a smooth animation for testing smears he is like this “Finally you actually tried to do a good animation”

I think you should think about if it already looks fine the way it is before saying

(did this make sense? i dont think it did)

first off you need to know the media your animation will be played on.
There is little sense to make a 60 fps animation if it’s going to be played on a device that will play at 24 fps only.
If your goal is to produce a gif, 24 fps could even be too much.
Then you have to deal with production time and costs.
More fps translate usually in more time to make the animation.
For hand drawn animations (also for many computer animated types) more frames only means more frame to draw. the smooth is more related to design quality than fps.
fps really comes into action in computed movements like 3d animations (or 2d tweens and such) where more fps give more fluid vision
Also remember that for real time animations (like in games) more fps need more computer work. Settings too high fps (and resolution) could indeed cause very bad experience for the user.

If you think BSA is bullying/harassing you, then you should do something about it.

Also, this does basically nothing. 24 FPS on 2’s is the same as 12 FPS on 1’s except you have to take the unnecessary time to extend the frame.

I think that that was @BSA_15 replying to blucake’s work… Is that right?

Regardless, I think that we can always improve no matter how good we think that our work is. We should always be open and mature about criticism, unless we know is not constructive.

yes but on my youtube videos he kept commenting on it saying its so low frame rate

@Jovanny I was referring to this.

We all operate differently.

One’s actions can’t always be defined from another’s perspective.

Alright, I’ll get to the end:
I’m sure @BSA_15 didn’t try to sound rude, or he didn’t think he did

I agree with you @Jovanny, there’s always room for improvement, which is why scientists still can’t find a definition for perfection.

Well, I don’t think or I don’t want to think that bsa is doing this for trolling mrdashell. Could you clarify @BSA_15

this is starting to become drama, but i just want to clarify that i’m not saying that BSA was definitely trying to hurt MrDashell’s feelings, and I will take into account that the comments are from few-months-ago-BSA. I just want to make sure that MrDashell knows he can get help when he needs it.

@MrDashell… I would say, this time (or 3 months ago), It was BSA… but in the future, if you have a youtube channel, prepare yourself for a lot more… Even the best artists in the world are strongly criticized by others. Don’t take it personal. Just identify what good you can get from them, and then waste the rest. Use it to grow and become better. Keep in mind that usually the people that do this are the ones that create the less (I’m not talking about bsa just in case, just in general). Don’t waste unnecessary energy on this, just become better.
