Animation apps I DONT RECOMMEND

guys dont worry wick editor is NOT INCLUDED because it is a great animation app

  1. Scratch :face_vomiting: :nauseated_face: :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
    yes it that bad there is no layers or onion skinning and you have to code to make it animate and it is not reliable for animation
  2. flipaclip
    Annoying Paywall and only has 3 layers and watermarks
  3. Animaker
    Why do u even use this is u use it bro its like so bad u cant even make original stuff

an AI convinced me of using Animaker, gosh it was TRASH, later i went to Alan Becker’s channel to see the animation apps he recommends, then i saw Wick Editor.

Scratch isnt even that bad what??? Turbowarp is a better example of how it can work
and Flipaclip is a good set for you to START animation, not really for people who want more control

Scratch isn’t bad unless you add scratc add-ons or use Turbowarp… (They both have onion skinning and skewing!!!)

lowk use scratch addons it adds onion skinning and a ton of quality of life stuff. still wouldn’t use it for animation but it’s objectively better for SVG editing

Idk if turbowarp and scratch add-ons are made by the same people, but turbo is better for animation and addons are better for modifying the scratch page.

everything has their purposes, no single software is going to be great at everything but they can at least do something well. scratch is probably not great as an animation tool on face value but it does teach people how to code (and people can make decent pose-to-pose animations as far as i can tell).

from experience i would say scratch is alright i guess but you need to be super mindful about what objects are drawn on the screen first

its good if ur doing simple stickman fights but for like things like complicated animation it would be a no

i mean, its kinda good but not that good to make games, i used it a bit but i dont recommend it that much on my opinion
