Animation gone when downloading video

When downloading an animation and looking at the mp3 file it is just a black screen but still has audio.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the bug, if you have them:
1.Download animation as video
2. See error

Expected behavior

Do you have a suggested solution to this issue? (ex. has another program fixed this bug a certain way? Are you familiar with where in the code base someone would need to fix this issue?)
uh record the animation I guess.

I originally animated this on candlestick but also put it on the regular wick and both times the animation didn’t show

Try using the new updated version of Wick Editor; Candlestick has better exporting and less issues than the outdated Wick Editor! https://candlestickers.app

in the additional context I already said I originally animated it in candlestick but that didn’t work

oh, sorry for not reading it correctly, u sure the arent any black frames on the animation? try giving the project file or record a video.

The default video export uses an ANCIENT (like not maintained since 2013) video codec, which will black-screen on certain video apps.

A way to fix this is to using a website like Convertio and export from MP4 to MP4.

For Wick and Candlestick 1.0.2, your best bet is to do noobfield’s suggestion and “convert” your mp4 into an mp4.

The test version of Candlestick (https://candlestickers.app/test/) has a new video renderer, which should be more compatible with video viewers and have better image quality than 1.0.2. Try opening the project there and see if it works.
