what type of fx? because if you want bursts of air, fire, smoke, or dust than I can help.

fire, and lazers.

sorry for the late response, for lasers if theirs a person, object, or piece of debree. lasers would be blocked out by it for a few seconds before the object melts or heats it up and pushes it away.

For fire if its a bust of fire Im gonna say that you should have it flicker (small bursts that get faster until it goes to normal size) usually it ends in an explosion.

good idea is to add a smoke effect to a lot of these.
