How can I make a clip display multiple animation based on input?

I’m trying to make a character stand still, but either run or throw an object when a key is pressed. How can i make it so that he only plays one animation when i press a key?

It is a little bit outdated, but the idea is the same…

Thank you! is there a way i can use this to change a character to a different sprite or looping animation?

so if you have a character make the whole body a clip

then in the right where you edit things go to edit timeline look at this project Fighting Madness3-16-2021_23-25-28.wick (22.1 KB)

alright
what next?

look at that project up there just analise it and make your owns

thanks! ill let you know if i need any more help.

ok no problem

ok, theres still some confusion: i finish editing the clip and go back to the projects tab, and the character is not there (which is supposed to be happening) but when i press “preview play” the character just scrolls through all his sprites instead of just the two i have for him running.

do you have a frame for the character not moving if you don’t that should be your first frame so the first frame need to be the character not moving and in that frame make the default script stop() and make a mouse click keypressed idk and make the if key script

go through my project’s character

alright, it’s working!
thank you!

no problem
