How to wait?

Hello, I am aware of set timeout, but it does not work at all. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to wait in code, for example, Waiting a few seconds before playing a clip or going to the next frame. Also, if possible, can you please tell me how I would loop that sleep function? Thank you if you can respond, I’m tying to make a game rn and wick editor is free and I don’t want to spend money on a different engine.
