Hello, everyone! It’s me, Medal! Decided to make a new post about my new plans for “Race For Medal’s Manor”, my upcoming object show made in WickEditor! This might be an incredibly long post, but I’ll try and keep every detail into different paragraphs!
First up, the first four characters have gotten some changes. The contestants will now have names that aren’t just… their object name, kinda like how ONE did their characters. Medal won’t have this change… for story reasons… Anyway, Battle Axe, Ice Cream Cone, and Diamond will now be called Axel, Vanilla, and Grace respectively. Also, I’ve slightly changed Axel’s design to allow enough room for Axel to actually have room for his legs, and Grace will now be armless because I don’t want her to be a copy of Ruby from BFDI. I’ve also updated Medal’s hat shading to be more on par with the other character’s accessories. I’m also using the BFDI assets uploaded by Quibby because the old ones weren’t clipped and they also were also originally made for Medal’s design in mind, and they were FAR too large for Axel and Vanilla without it looking off. While it will make the style more similar to BFDI, I think consistency for each character is more important. (The image below was made before the style change.)
Next up, I’m going to talk about something you probably aren’t expecting: A change in FORMAT. Yes, this show will no longer be using the Total Drama/Survivor/BFDI setup. Instead, it will be using the setup of The Amazing Race, because I have more experience with it, it allows MULTIPLE contestants to win, its a subversion of expectations, and lastly, Total Drama also did a spoof of The Amazing Race before they did the reboot nonsense recently, which also happens to be one of BFDI’s main inspirations, so it makes sense for it to also go full circle.
But now I know what all of you are thinking: “What’s going to different with this format compared to BFDI and most other object shows?” Simple. 9 more contestants will be added into the show, and two contestants of these 30 contestants will become a permanent team, allowing for 15 teams, allowing for at LEAST 12 episodes. The first half of the teams to complete the challenge, aka make it to the finish line, will be safe from elimination, while the other half will be at risk of leaving the show most of the time. However, it will NOT be “Vote to Save,” because I think that method is overall worse than the original “Vote to Eliminate.” However, I AM going to be using BFDIA’s “Like and Dislike” method, but instead of getting a prize, the most liked team are automatically immune to being eliminated, regardless of how many votes they got. However, I’m making it so that if the team that previously got the most likes the previous time they were set up for elimination should not be immediately like bombed, because if they receive the most votes again the next time they are up for elimination, then their dislikes will be DOUBLED the amount, serving as a warning. If they still remain and get the most likes a THIRD time in a row, they will automatically be eliminated, even if they fundamentally got the least amount of dislikes. I chose this setup because both “Vote to Eliminate” and “Vote to Save” have their fundamental strengths and weaknesses, and while the “Like and Dislike” method has POTENTIAL, there is the possibility of bots spamming dislikes or likes to increase the chances of a team leaving or staying in the game. While the dislike problem will still be a problem, the like process working like this is my best possible method of reducing this strategy.
So, now with the overall shift of changing the format, is there anything from the original plan that’s completely scrapped? Well, no! The contestants I’ve already made assets for will still compete, and while I haven’t made new names for them yet, the contestants Gyro, Coal, Laptop, Cane, Tornado, Oven, Fridge, and Painting, along with a more recent addition, Lantern, surviving the initial pitch, while Pizza, Pretzel, Burger, Jalapeño, Rice, Watermelon, Fork, Dollar, Football, Soccer Ball, and Log will NOT be returning. The overall plot and story will be similar to my original pitch, but I will have to change some things for the changes in format, as well as most of the remaining contestant’s personalities staying relatively the same.
Finally, what does this mean for the remaining 18 spots for the contestants yet to be filled? Well, that’s simple. I HAVE NO IDEA. I do not have any ideas for any more objects that I already have made/decided, and the ones I got rid of were either due to not knowning how to make their design or just not having a good enough personality. But… you guys might. In the replies below, I want any of YOU to make or recommend a character/asset for the chance of making them appear in the show! Only EIGHTEEN of them will be selected, and you can also upload ONE or TWO characters per account, but each character MUST be in separate replies. After I eventually get enough (Probably around 40 or so, idk), the nine most liked characters will be automatically put in the show, while the remaining ones left will be hand picked by me, as well as your username being shown both once per episode by the character’s name as well as in the description of each episode the characters appear in. I might also let you help me script the episodes, storyboard them, animate them, or even voice act for them if you win, but that’s entirely up to you! There is no time limit to when recommended characters will stop, it’ll only stop once I feel like I got enough submissions!
In conclusion, I’m sorry for making this post so long, but I have TONS of ideas I want to bring to life, and I don’t have a proper budget or reach for this project yet. Hopefully, that can change in the future, but regardless, thanks for reading, and good luck to everyone’s recommended characters!
