Programming Reference

Evening guys

Little bit of background, I’m a UK Secondary School Computer Science Teacher, and I hope to teach Wick as part of various digital media units across a range of ages and topics from Animation to Games.

I have discovered with some forum searching, that I need to teach JavaScript for the interactivity bits, but to help me put together some helpful classroom resources, I was wondering if there is a written reference for anything Wick specific please, as I understand it there are some AS3 style functionality that extends the JavaScript specifically for Wick.

Thank You!
Steve

welcome to wick

The other day I was discussing this with someone else active on this forum. Unfortunately, I don’t think Wick has much documentation at the moment. There are some example files for how to perform certain actions here:

And there are also some tutorial videos on one of the developer’s YouTube channel. However (to my knowledge) there isn’t much written documentation available as of now. If I find something, I’ll be sure to let you know.

Hi @Steven_Gilson! Welcome to wick :D

When u start coding in wick, you’ll see a simple reference on the left

That reference has the basics of coding in Wick organized in a list, and when you hover over things, it’ll tell u what each does. Wick also uses pure javascript, so if you’ll have any trouble, google is ur friend, and you (or your students) can always find help on the Wick Forums!

An update to the coding reference is currently in development and should be available within the next week or two! (Currently cleaning up some code for it).
