I made a cool little rhythm game with a fully-functional level mapper. The controls are difficult to master, using the Q, W, A, and S keys, instead of something conventional. You can add your own levels, though it requires some code editing. The goal of the game is simple, just press the notes and listen to the beats! Also, here’s a gameplay picture:
This game already has taken a long long long time to make, and it will take some more time to make actual levels, menus, etc. etc. I would really appreciate if you looked at the game, tried it, and gave feedback! (constructive criticism is also appreciated) I’d also like to see you guys create custom songs with it! (The debug mode is accessed by pressing “]”) I also made a stupid template song which is the only song in the game so far.
PATCH NOTES:
v1.1:
- Added a basic settings option that is accessed by pressing ‘enter’.
- You can turn on lettered notes, which makes the notes alphabetical!
- Also, you can also turn on note disappearing, which makes the notes disappear when you hit them.
v1.1.2:
- Changed how inputs work, so holding notes before you have to hit them does not work.
- Added a ‘Misses’ counter, which is actually inaccurate because notes keep duplicating themselves for no reason (how to fix??)
- Fixed the notes disappearing, so now they fully delete.
- Deleted some unused code that may have been lagging the game.
