Rendering hidden layers

What Wick Editor Version are you using?
Ex. 1.19

Describe the Problem
Rendering always includes hidden layers. No option to not render hidden layers. Surprised because I have been able to render before without seeing the hidden layers.

What have you tried so far?
I’ve looked everywhere for a don’t render hidden layers option in the export options, the settings options, looking under the outliner, etc…

Do you have a Wick Editor File that we can see? Optional*
Attach a .wick file if you have one in progress that can help us help you!
I would if there was an attach option here.

You can drag a file into the text box and it’ll become a file!

I’m a new user according to this site, so it won’t let me.

Oh, right, i was reading the Discourse’s trust level requirements (where the forum was made i think.) and here’s what to do to become a basic member:

  • Entering at least 5 topics
  • Reading at least 30 posts
  • Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts

I don’t know if they are that similar because they can be changed…that’s just the default requirements.

This may be fixed in the newer version, which was 1.20.
Also welcome to the forums

Welcome to the forums @Henri_Brownell, you are incapable of not rendering hidden layers after exporting. Layers can only be hidden within the editor in order to give you the ability of organizing your perspective of the project.

However, I may have a solution.

You can hide a frame by creating a clip in that frame, and naming the clip “start,” then that frame shouldn’t be rendered after you export the project, or while previewing the project in the editor.

Just note that this method works because it is a bug that causes the frame to not render, but it is more likely to be fixed in a later Wick version.

So, that’s a new bug right? I have been able to render fine with earlier projects…

Naming a clip “start” is a new bug that results in having a frame not render even when it’s not hidden

I never tried exporting a project before with hidden layers, but that may be a good feature to have in version 1.20 (especially since wick is going to change it’s renderer and add colorable layers)
