I think it would be awesome if we could hold an animation contest! I don’t know if I can host one or if it would be against the rules, but I would love to host one.

It is not against the rules, but you should be able to ask who is interested, and what the rules are and when it does start and when ends.
In the past we have had some contests with no participation and lack of interest.
Try to make it finite in terms of dates, and dont maintain it open for too long, because it could be converted into spam very quickly.
