the length of the brush
That is a correction factor for the editor to smooth you drawing curves… Try to make curves with zero, and then with 50. You should notice a lag when you increase that factor.

similar to what jovanny said, it’s more of a brush stability setting. setting it to 0 means no stability, and 100 make the brush stroke lag behind the mouse to make it easier to draw things like curves.
