Guys, How do I do that?
Well, not like there is a direct translation or anything that I’m aware of. The Editor is exporting to html or html5 zip files. This is for running on the internet.
Having said that, If you are looking to how to play one of your games in your Wii, the Wii has a web browser. You should be able to put your game somewhere on the internet, and access it using the wii web browser. If your game is about pressing buttons, you should be able to interacts with your game with the wii remote controller and press those buttons…
I think that I did something similar with a Flash game that I made in the past using my PS3 web browser.
You have to make an account on Nintendos dev portal: https://developer.nintendo.com/
and they also have to approve your game being on their consoles
Edit: Wait nvm the wii is out of support so the only way u can do it is right above this reply.
There is a way! Browsers on Wii, do exist at this point. (because I made a topic last year about that) Just make a link to your game, then go to that website on your Wii. Easy! I also used to have a Wii, but I may find that Wii soon, and see If it works
you might be able to hook up your wii remote to your computer and play it like that. if you want a bigger screen, my tv can run a mac mini on it, so you might want to connect your wii remote to that instead. if you still want a real wii game, you need to do a lot more stuff.
You might be able to look if there is any homebrew that lets your Wii run html files directly, as there is a lot of Wii homebrew, and lots of it is very useful.
But how do I code wii controls?
you might need to export as html and unencrypt the code and translate it into c#, c++ or C and add wii controls through that with plugins in C or c# or even C++ export it and let nintendo approve your game and then you can sumbit the game to nintendo and maybe sell it on the nintendo e-shop
I’ll be completely honest here @anon85487110 , there’s no easy way to magically give your game Wiimote support and then dump it on your Wii so you can play it like a Wii game.
the way I said above is probably one of the only ways to do it and its actually really complicated because you need to learn c++
How Jovanny described it at the top is the only practical way; studios spend thousands of dollars getting their games to work on the Wii, but doing it through a browser just requires hosting your game somewhere. Netlify or Neocities could be good places to host your game online for free, so that you can access it from the Wii web browser.
The controller essentially functions as a mouse when using the web on a Wii.
One concern is that the Wii web browser might be too outdated to run Wick projects, but I’m not sure because I haven’t tried it myself. Only one way to find out!
Yeah the wii web browser might be outdated because it was LAST UPDATED IN 2009
If you have Homebrewed your Wii, burn the file onto a DVD and then play it through the homebrew channel.
Wait if you did not download the wii browser before November or whenever the wii shop shut down your gonna have to download homebrew
that’s what i mean, but they also have a browser in Homebrew
they are slow yes but are we talking about wii or wii u because the wii u browser is somewhat better
