Hear me out. Wick editor is a free software with a UI similar to Animate / Flash, They dont have symbols, but clips can be used as symbols. And, since there are multiple projects used with Wick, Wick editor is a pretty reliable software for beginners.
I have used Animate for about 3 years, and my mom canceled the subscription for Creative Cloud. I watched Alan Becker’s video on replacements, and i found Wick Editors UI Impressive. I tried it out, and it was a bit tricky at first, but once i practiced the basics, i got really good at it!
I heard Adobe said they changed their mind and made it so its still available, but what do yall think?
the two things we would need and dont have are extreme public influence and an ungodly amount of money that even adobe couldnt refuse. i dont think adobe would even see our offer
What about buying the old Vectorian Giotto project by taking over it could be modernised and become THE GREATEST ANIMATION TOOL
Why buy another software? Just build on this one. Wick can be great! - WebAnimate is a commercial fork of Wick and its quite good. I myself am building “Wick-ED” As an educational fork to teach the basics of game building and animation. Wick doesn’t need to purchase ADOBE’s anything - Infact I have always thought ADOBE was a company that didn’t deserve their reputation. They influenced Universities very early in computing to make them selves an “Industry Standard”. They do produce good products though! I personally love After Effects. But this Open Source Copyleft - University backed and funded software, doesn’t need to purchase anything. Just improve with input over time.
