Hey i am new to wick editor, and i was wondering, can you use this software to make interactive websites?
Hello, do you mean make a website with Wick Editor, or make certain parts of a website with Wick Editor?
If you mean to make an entire website with Wick Editor, that would be possible. You could separate individual pages as different frames. But I’m not sure about being able to scroll with the mouse wheel. The only way to access the mouse wheel right now, as far as I know, is by “hacking” in a mouse wheel event listener for the Wick Editor HTML canvas element to detect scrolling. Then you’d have to change every clip’s position inside the scrolling area when the user scrolls. Hmm… Wick Editor should add scrollable areas.
If you mean certain parts of a website with Wick Editor, that would be possible too. But every time a visitor opens up the page it has to wait for the Wick Editor “widgets” to load. It also shows Wick Editor’s loading screen when loading.
I already tried doing something similar. Idk if you guys noticed from the leaf game, but I had a scroll bar in there. The thing is that the scroll bar I added scrolled me outside of the project and everything was blank 0_0
(Scroll bars on windows/ mac/ etc. looks different than the one shown in the gif)
That’s probably why Wick doesn’t have scrollable areas
If it was to work, the scroll bar would’ve taken me down straight to the end of those notes.
It would be a really useful feature to have
I mean making a full on interactive website with Wick editor.
wick makes for you an html canvas
in a canvas you can put images, text, buttons, animations but still wickeditor is not an html editor
