FFR 1.3.29 (patch 13v2 w_o boundbox)5-22-2021_17-41-28.wick (1.3 MB)
need help:
I think it’s best to maintain one button style. switching from these… rectangular… color-changing buttons to file-looking buttons doesn’t make a whole lot of sense in a game like this. at least to me.
A futuristic era that allows people to have UI interfaces and pull software to the real world. Most of the world is now integrated with software. Currently the place is inside a quarantined Forum section of a website.
PROS: we can bend some rules of the real world to make this fit
CONS: if everything is online, there’s little interaction, and the stakes are basically 0.
a not-super-futuristic-but-also-futuristic setting where people meet in real life to make stuff with company, but maybe with holographic screens and keyboards and editing shenanigans. this IRL setting makes it so that the whole… chapter 0… makes sense.
PROS: there are stakes since you can’t just teleport yourself to another website or something. there is also actual interaction since people are meeting in-person. we can still use portals and have purple thingies destroying stuff and still have futuristic stuff.
CONS: slightly fewer physics-breaking stuff allowed, like traveling through the internet to avoid stuff. but that shouldn’t really be a problem.
A weird one: Everyone is literally sleeping in a pod because there’s some kind of unknown disease. The pod is mainly used to slow the spread, with a careful amount of researchers finding a cure… everyone is instead living their lives inside a virtual space through the internet… using the pod.
PROS: breaking the rules of physics is fine since it’s just online.
CONS: really weird, absolutely no interaction if everyon’e in a pod. the setting could be a story of its own. basically no stakes since you can basically reach out to anyone.

what if the fighters are NOT ‘real’ people
they are representatives of forum users.
and while they represent they also have their own little lives in the online space.
they do their own things interact each other for fun, do unesserary things but most of all fight!
so not “real people” more like the main characters are literary video game characters battling glitches (except instead of video game characters you have forum users (that are fighters)
this, is what the doc are currently revolving around you know
unifer
duh
whats unifer
unifer
this is spam, we should stop
so the characters are “real”, but they have corresponding video game characters that do the fighting and aren’t “real”?
if that’s the case, how do fights work? in real life you can’t just challenge some random person to a video game to settle a problem between you 2 and expect them to willingly comply. that would make a lot of plot holes.
so i feel that the characters should, obviously, be real, and be the ones actually fighting against each other (for fun) and enemies (in the “real” world).
and seriously, what does “unifer” mean? i’m guessing it’s a secret code, or part of one?
oh god, im gonna use toy story as an example…
the toys act as actual toys while people are around but when they are they live in an area they made for themselves. the fighters are similar in that when no one is a around they spend time hanging around vietmamise trees and old caves and having their own interactions separate from the main roles.
and, it sets the stage by telling that they know how to fight by saying they spar each other in their spare time
so setting-wise, it’s some people who have their own lives (fight) when no-one else is around?
any other questions?
is there any interaction between “us” and “the real world”? because if not, there’s no need for the toy story thing and we may as well just be “known” or “not hidden” in the world.
also, please explain “unifer”.
well actually, that is a good point we can just be known in the world :0

FFR 1.3.29 (patch 12 without the arena)5-23-2021_11-45-27.wick (1.3 MB)
just had to update something :3
@awc95014
we’re really having this huh…
I dunno I like adding funny secrets and all, but at this stage it’s not needed. Okay well the secrets/easter-eggs thing is not really needed, but i mean at this stage of development we shouldn’t put our attention at it for now.
also hello its sunday, I’m working on making movement less slippery and finishing the arena for today.
(meanwhile hey Baron is it okay if i make the deceleration a character stat instead of setting it to the acceleration?)
eh, agree to disagree, its not my main focus point
more off… preparation… yes…
more of us hide in the caves? is that right?
does it really hurt to tell? like, is this a serious easter egg that has some lore or are you doing it for the funzies?
and kringle, sure you can make deceleration different.
both, im doing both
im trying to spread the game out in little ways. having a terribly hard code to crack might just keep a number of hunters in the game, and long enough to start enjoying it
i love codes
yes, correct. and do you happen to remember any… caves?
we’re really doing this?
i guess the cave art on the intro and the first arena on the old FFR are the only caves of significance in this context.
and you added the heiroglyph-looking thing to arena 1?
