i don’t think anything in local storage would affect the multiplayer matches. unless we have some sort of leaderboard. multiplayer’s only gonna be for playing matches right? no stat saving or anything?

the only thing we should have to worry about regarding cheating in multiplayer matches, if we don’t store game wins/losses e.g. for a leaderboard, are exploits like player noclipping/flying or hitting the other player from an unreasonable distance. but honestly we shouldn’t try making an anticheat – there’s no leaderboard or anything. and probably only a small percentange of players would use exploits in the first place, since there’s no real incentive to cheat in the first place as there isn’t a prize for winning/losing. only like people who are mad cuz they’re bad or trollers.

I don’t really know if this really should be made by giving people Wick Files. It kinda bothers that gameplay. And-- if some youtuber tries to play the game, the editor might disturb them.

Also, for piracy, if this game is for free, the reason I’m agreeing to add a program to stop piracy is because there could be websites that use our games without permission. Sorta like eBuams world (correct me if I spelt the name wrong)

well, this message is unnessacary but alan becker also had his animation on eBaums. The file could be taken without notice. Besides, Alan finally took back the animation for eBaums. Problem with that is that you might not have contact with eBaums.

When is summer again? I don’t get seasons

Very soon, I’d guess. Depending on where you live, schools/colleges can start their summer vacations around April typically, with up to two weeks back and about a month ahead varying on location.
Except Australia and Africa (and South America but that doesn’t exist), obviously, but back in January, Summer would’ve been around/receding in Australia.
In my case summer’s already here, but summer and summer vacations are different.

For me, I’ll finish high school near the end of June
In other regions it’s usually near a different timing

i’m ending school in a little less than 3 months. but i have a bunch of summer class shenanigans so i don’t know how much time I’ll have.

also, are we going to employ voice acting or beep text boxes, i forgot if we decided.

I remember we did have a conversation regarding this, but I don’t remember the exact results.
I know I could search this post, but it might take some time (or maybe I’m just too lazy to do it).

Here’s how I think this will work:

  • Characters that “don’t speak” will just make sound effects
    (ex: if Flambe couldn’t speak, he’ll just make fire sounds when speaking)
  • There will be text boxes
    (or some sort of captions)
  • Characters that can speak, will speak

Also, I know some people might want their characters to speak but don’t want to “voice act.” In that case, we could use some audio software to adjust the voice of another “voice actor” who’d be willing enough to do it.

Too much audio files won’t be good either, so we could go back to this strategy for that

In fact, there might be a way that we could… upload an mp4 in a wick project without using an iframe? That might help with the story mode. I’ve been looking at the code that @SomeoneElse had been sharing to the community lately, and it’s what gave me the idea of this. I’m just busy with school at the moment, so I’ll have to wait for that to get out of the way before I could try this. Until then, ignore this note. It’s simply just thoughts.

I don’t know exactly what your trying to do, but if your trying to have sound files stored somewhere else than the project and then load them in through another source this could help.

I was playing around with creating assets and you could possibly create a wick sound asset from data sent to the project. This would probably take time to load though.

Here is a wick file that when played creates a Wick.ClipAsset although its not a actual clip but rather a string that is stored.
