Feedback:

  • If you’re going to use clips as buttons, don’t forget to make it obvious that they’re buttons by making the cursor change on hover. Here’s what I mean: How to set cursor to pointer
  • I’m not really sure what there is to do. I select the only clickable mode (training), select the only clickable character, and there’s nothing to do. I see a green thing on frame 3, but it never appears in training mode. Is it meant to be in training mode? Is it just a placeholder?

TL;DR: Overall, it’s an okayish start, good job with coding the player’s movements.

Sorry if any of this stuff feels petty to you. All of this is constructive criticism, and I’m not saying “this is mediocre” or “this sucks and so do you”.

its nice, but maybe have a cleaner menu?
there should also be some kind of mechanic to dodge attacks like a roll, parry, etc.

and idk if this is intentional, but the attacks loop. it would probably be better if you would have to press a button to attack once

as for bugs, 1v1 doesnt work, and i can only click on the left character for the character selection on training

edit: i also noticed that the blue fireball particle is from the player sprite. it should be a separate sprite that way its easier to detect

i wan to make a select screen for the characters you know how

I’m good with telling stuff to go to frames (which is what you want to do) and how to set variables, it’s basically the bare minimum!

I can also design some UI and do the art and animation, unless this is a one-man effort!

havec any ideas for a fighing game style select screen

ooh that would be cool, im also willing to animate too

Look at the classics! There’s Super Smash Bros, Street Fighter, Tekken, even Mortal Kombat!

Like I said, I’d be willing to help. There’s a bunch of other people you can outsource work to, like @RPWMA, whose animations are very, very polished (to me)

so how do you code it?

The first question to ask is “hey, what do I know about JS?” Then you gotta cobble stuff together until you find something usable. It can be bad, but it’s gotta do its job.

That being said I barely do any coding when it comes to Wick Editor, but for what you intend to focus on first I’d be able to do it

I’d also strongly suggest sketching out your ideas and the UI first before programming, it helps you focus on what’s important and how to do it. UI should come last, but it doesn’t really matter and you really want to do that first, so we’ll do it.

im not too experienced with the wick editor language so i would recommend finding tutorials, theres even some from the creators!

erm ackshually it’s javascript

Jokes aside, definitely get to learning JavaScript!

im sorry i forgot :disappointed:

I do NOT forgive you  /j

NOOOO :sob: :sob: PLSSS
