(banned due to leaving)
you are going to stop using wick
But that doesn’t mean you should stop trying. If you stop making games then you aren’t going to get better at making games.
I agree
I mean just keep trying- that’s why people are who they are today trial and error and you’ll make it to the top
If you want something like a sample project to get started with, I could try to make something? Learning to code takes a while, and you have to start small before you can do really complex things. But if there’s some kind of fairly simple game you think you’d be satisfied with making, I think people on the forum could help. Just try to be as descriptive as possible - explain with as much detail as possible about what you’d like to do.
If u quit, then u didn’t do anything in the first place, all of your past tries just fade away because u simply quit. The ice cube that you started with will melt, and so u might wanna consider looking at the ice cube from another side rather than watching it melt slowly without attempting to strengthen every molecule.
(Sorry for that weird example… this example would make more sense if you look for what it represents)
I just want to add that a game doesn’t have to be complex to be interesting and fun to play. I know it’s very tempting to try to do things like platformers, but those usually require somewhat complex parts (like having gravity when a character jumps, lots of hittest stuff). But there are games that are really simple but still very fun to play - one kind that I like is “choose your own adventure” style games, where you decide where to go and what happens by just clicking stuff. But they can be as creative as you want! You can put anything in them and have it feel like a story even though it’s entirely point and click based.
I think if there’s something you’re really interested in, you can find a way to make a project around it that is simple enough to not be overwhelming, but will be fun for you to make since it’ll be about something you enjoy.
I can provide you with a template for your projects
I actually suggested that Wick provides us with templates to start off projects,
click the ghost to find that topic (it’s a huge list of suggestions)
download template
Scratch has little tutorial projects for various types of games - there’s a pong game tutorial, a clicker game tutorial, a chase game tutorial…it just gives you the framework to get started. Wick would definitely benefit from having something similar for people starting out.
They do have samples, along with video tutorials and the code reference:
I’d forgotten about those - some of those examples like the Haunted House and Well-Dressed Ghost are like Scratch tutorials, where it doesn’t just show you how to do something but also puts it in the context of a game. It’d be nice to have a few more of those.
how do you do that
you mean withdraw post?
nvm
he deleted the post
Just to make it clear, you can’t get banned for leaving. I’m not trying to say anything, but really no one should be banned for banning themselves from using a software… that sounds ironic.
Also, u don’t have to be an “unknown user,” you can be yourself. There’s a lot of wisdom in being something than trying to be anonymous… right?
and you know it shows us that you edited your posts
