just made an animation with the current browser editor
and here a list of things that I’d find useful.
sorry for the LONG venting but I think it could be of some use
suggestion are not in a real importance order.
it’s a mixed order of importance and feasibility (in my opinion)
1- a desktop version. ready to use for the main operating system. and available from wickeditor.com
that is necessary to ensure that the software is available under all circumstances.
this is mandatory for a professional or semiprofessional use
this would also greatly increase the number of users and the success of the software
2- add/remove frames inbetween animation (not add keys)
I mean you place the cursor on frame 5 (just as an example), insert N frames and all the kesy for all layers move forward N frames. (likewise for delete frames)
this could be already present in the editor as the shortcuts menu suggest it but it does not seems to work (I’ll made a bugs report)
3- fix some bugs before proceeding with new features
I encountered some bugs (list will follow) while importing, doing shortcuts, animating
Nothing that really cloud how great this editor is but I think that a solid reliable release is preferable to a more rich bugged one
4-application border visible on top of all elements in development mode
this could seems a little thing but while animating zoomed scenes I wondered if an elements still was inside the scene border or not
I ended making an upper layer with a rectangle the size of the scene just for reference
5- middle mouse click to pan scene would be really nice and inline with many other software
6- a bigger zoom/scale factor. In my test animation I had the desire to be able to zoom more on my clips
Shape tweening even in a very simple version (same shape at start and end, different position of verteces), tween along path (spline),clip mask and animated mask would all be great addons
if you have read up to there thankyou ; )
