I might have overreacted a bit in the title but the application just gets on my nerves! One of my most liked features in the web version is the autosave which is very helpful generally and also helps a lot whenever the editor just crashes and dies (which it does a lot whenever it is having a hard time rendering frames - or something like that - IDK I’m not a programmer). Anyways the autosave is JUST NON-EXISTENT IN THE APP. I mean where did it go? What squat did the devs do? They didn’t even patch the crashing in the application. It just got worse. ANYONE working on a large-scale project has to literally save copies of their project EVERY FIVE MINUTES because these crashes happen SO GODDAMN OFTEN! I guess there’s a reason the app is in beta, and I know I could just use the web editor until the app is better, but then what’s the point anyway? If the point is that in an airplane there’s no Wi-Fi so you could use the app instead of the web version to do your work, IDK how it really helps because the app is just too unreliable. I’ve already found one guy fuming on the forum about all their work getting deleted, and how long until we get more of these incidents? LOOK ALIVE, WICK DEVS!
Sorry to say this, but Wick Editor is completely abandoned since 2021. The app/download-able is in an older version too.
The reason large-scale Wick projects crash and break so often is bad optimization, since Wick doesn’t compress or GC any project data.
