when it comes to randomized platformers made by scratchers, you would randomly place platforms and spikes and that sort. it is likely that some layouts are impossible, so scratchers usually add a skip button for when levels are impossible.

for a fighting game, you would have to randomize enemies and other elements. depending on how this game will work and what the objective is, some levels might be impossible.
