Question… why did you place a beachball… flying in the air… on top of a beach that is clearly in a very far distance…

Oh, i just wanted a beachball flying across the beach, thought it would look cool, though you can change the look and make it smaller if you want, and the beachball starts under the cliffside.

Is outofsteam an actual name you came up with or is it cause the og ff kinda fell off?

Out of steam was out little unofficial name for us

Try to change the clones’ default script to this to fix the bug:

what this code does

sets “default frame” variable of the clip to the project’s current frame number, then adds an update script that adds a default script to remove the clone object, and replaces the current update script with one that removes the cloned object when the default frame is not equal to the current project frame’s number.

Edit: @KringlePrinkles why did rohstedye change so much between the ffr version and the ogff version?
I think the ogff ver would be good for the endgame credits, cause it’s much less upbeat then the ffr

well you see… there’s nothing to see. i didn’t do it at all. sorry :grimacing:

but anyway, explaining attacks is the most important step right now. it feels finished but you clearly have lots of ideas.


probably since the game isn’t meant to be very calm.

Might change the "OutOfSteam Studios i put in the intro to “Team OutOfSteam” cause it sounds catchier

A small patch update:

  • Added click noises to all buttons
  • Included a todo list for all of us to use
  • Added Hamzah’s code to fix the bug (it works!)
  • Fixed the arrangement of the set pieces in the title screen.

(also please don’t increase the version number unless the update is significant or needed)

Edit: Hey is it just me or is this intro a little addicting to play over and over? I am definitely proud of it but I couldn’t stop playing it. I think it’s the 5-7th time I’ve played it
Edit 2: Actually wait I played it much more times than I might’ve remembered, so maybe round 10-15-ish right now.

it was because someone i think it was gamerboi from what I remember wanted ff to be part of their game studio called outofsteam?

does anyone else think the intro is a bit distracting with all the effects?

and i feel like OutOfSteam isn’t a really good name… do we even need a name? it’s just some game made by some wick forum people…

Well name is good to simplify things and the intro is supposed to be active, energizing, etc to get you P U M P E D for the game

I can remove the effects in the intro if it is distracting for everyone, I’ll set up a poll:
(I could add an in-game option to remove it if it’s fine too)

  • It’s distracting, please remove.
  • I don’t like it, please remove it.
  • It’s not distracting… but we don’t need it.
  • It’s not distracting and I like it, please keep it.

I understand what Baron is talking about: We are just making a game together as a group and not as a game company. Look at FNF, they don’t seem to have a team name, haha!

I tried out making very fast movement of the intro effects more slow. If it is still very distracting, I’ll just remove it.

Maybe we can write something like

“We present to you…”

instead of

“A Group of Forum Users presents…”

The vcam’s zoom code causes this issue - I don’t think we need a vcam… do we? The project (so far) doesn’t seem to have anything to do with “outside-screen” objects

yeah, that’s a lot better on the eyes. at least for me.

maybe a possible way to do the intro would be this. instead of:

  • part 1 of tagline thing (4 beats)
  • part 2 of tagline thing (2 beats)
  • made with wick editor (2 beat)
  • ??? presents (4 beats)
  • logo
    • top right (1 beat)
    • left (1 beat)
    • center to top right (1 beat center, 1 beat top right, 2 total)

we do this:

  • made with wick editor (4 beats)
  • and… (4 beats)
    • a $0 budget
    • a lot of free time
    • etc.
  • ??? presents, logo shenanigans (same thing)

notes after playtesting with my brother, comparing the current version to the old one
… its a little concerning

because…

  • but spaming regual punch stun lock the other player pretty easy.
  • Up and down attacks have EXTREMELY big hitboxes
  • down attack stuns both players for an equal amount of time, leading to an awkward 0.5 sec
  • knock back Is all weird, when a player is dash attacked the knockback received moves you upwards away from the source but then at the peak of the knockback you just drop like a stone :P

also its just me but because the boxes move by hobbling back and forth the movement feels less smooth… but that ones just me
