Oh, and I don’t mean to make it Bullet Heck (I’m gonna say heck now because I think it’s funny lol) I mean to make it… EXTREMELY difficult on (almost) the same level as games that are in the genre.
Fate was actually supposed to be a male, not a girl. But for the worldbuilding, I guess we could make him/her (you can choose their gender) have some lore, like there is more than one of their kind, and their masks are actually a part of their skin and flesh, etc. etc.
@Dol_Boonsomchin for your boss/character, what do you mean by fate/probability and stuff like that? how specifically will it work?
also, making the fight harder than bullet heck games is probably not very good since i don’t really want to target this game away from… normal people, or something like that.
I’m doing fine, just tired and a bit busy. also unmotivated woohoo. my websocket quacking thing stopped working for seemingly no reason and i didn’t change any code… woohoo… surely i’ll figure it out at some point.
Yeah I’m fine, it’s just the same problem I have with every project. I want to work on a project (e.g. this) for a while, but then like few days later I randomly lose motivation, or think of something else I could be working that seems cool, then end up not working on the project indefinitely.

I’m not really a fan of the loading screens, it’s not very good to look at in my opinion. i also don’t see how the background being colorful is symbolic of temperi losing most of themselves. if anything i feel like it’d mean the opposite. also the shading on baron’s skin doesn’t look too great. (and pump kinhead doesn’t have cool looking shoes they’re just very hard solid-colored feet!!!)
well i believe smash does a thing where the playing field gets smaller and smaller. (yes we could consider stealing an idea from another game instead of coming up with our own original ide)
(Decided to draw this in another program) And inside those sections/levels, the player needs to survive for a few minutes or seconds in order to come back to the original fight.
That’s one of his “probability” attacks (he technically just rewrites reality, although this power is limited.)
For his “fate” attacks, (keep in mind his fate attacks usually happen when he’s on low health) he will either lower down the player’s health (halfway down), slow down their speed, or just lower down their attack damage.
I don’t want it to be harder, I want it to be ALMOST as hard.
Temperi (if I’m correct) actually lost most of her code, and the colorful background represents that, as it’s just a bit “messed up” (don’t know how to explain that)

I’ve been distracted by some other projects and such, some might not be connected to FF but I got to learn some new things from working on them that could help out with this collab, such as using IndexedDB in wick, decoding and encoding base64, or changing the source of an image object to a specific source without lag. These will be mostly helpful when it comes to working on story mode though. To be honest, I still had time to work on this project but I had chosen to focus on other things, so it’s mostly my fault. I still kept track of every message and all updates here (and on the forums). This month, I can hopefully contribute more to this project.
Also, should we have some folks start working a bit with story mode? (by that, I mean creating an organized and simplified version of the first chapter in the story document… I recommend doing this in a new document if anyone’s interested).
When you said this the first thing that came to my mind was two walls on the right and left side slowly pushing the characters in, then somehow I had a “floor is lava” idea where lava just starts rising from the ground and the players fight for the highest platform. There are so many things we can do here, I think we can have different “time over events” for every arena (depending on what seems more fitting for that arena). I have created moving walls using Baron’s engine before, so I’ll start with that idea first later today.
I might also change the appearance of the timer if I find time for that.
I agree with this. This is a 2D game and not 3D, so using w rather than space for jumping sounds better, and E is commonly used for interacting in many PC games
This character looks cool and with some adjustments would definitely make a nice boss level, we’ll just need to find room for them in the story
Regarding the gender thing, it doesn’t have to be male or female, not everything has a gender … ex: robots. Humans made gender bc there’s an obvious difference between female and male, but if this character is supposed to represent fate in its appearance, then we might as well have some information of this character be left unanswered for the players to question, for fate is something that nor they nor we can be sure of. This is just my idea.
I actually remember moving the Vcam down under the “fx_transition” clip.
I did this because the timer appeared on top of the “loading” transition box (for half a second before the transition box leaves).
I still used the version you shared in this post, so all changes you made should still be in the current file.

also especially @Hamzah_Alani , i would like you to brain storm a role for your character that can exist within the the current 2 chapters, i just need a rough idea to work off of, ok?
